About Noel Gallagher

Noel Thomas David Gallagher is a British musician, famous as the previous lead guitar player, backing singer and principal tunesmith of the English rock and roll band Oasis. Raised in Burnage, Manchester with bro Liam, Noel commenced learning guitar at the age of 13. After a collection of odd tasks in construction, Noel joined local Manchester band, Inspiral Carpets as a roadie and mechanic in 1988. While touring with the Inspiral Carpets, he learned that Liam had formed a band of his very own, called the Rain, which ultimately took on the name “Oasis”.

After Noel returned to Britain , he was invited by Liam to join Oasis as composer and guitar player. Oasis ‘ first album, Definitely Maybe ( 1994 ) marked the start of the band’s rise to celebrity as head of the Britpop movement. Oasis ‘ 2nd album, ( what is the Story ) Morning Glory? Turned into an enormous commercial smash. But Britpop shortly fell in appreciation, and Oasis ‘ next three albums failed to resuscitate its acclaim, however the band’s last two albums do not accept the Truth ( 2005 ) and Dig Out Your Soul ( 2008 ) were announced as the band’s best efforts in more than a decade, which found the band replenished success. On twenty-eight Aug 2009, following a squabble with Liam previous to a gig in Paris, Noel confirmed his exit from Oasis and on twenty-three October 2009, he confirmed he would start on a solo career. Noel’s run with Oasis was marked by turbulence, particularly during the top of Britpop, in which Noel was concerned in a few disputes with Liam, and the bros ‘ fights and wild ways of life constantly made the front page in English tabloid papers.

Noel ( with Oasis ) also shared a private competition with fellow Britpop band Blur. Nevertheless Noel was often considered to be the spear-head of the Britpop movement, and at one point of time, NME named a number of Britpop bands ( including The Boo Radleys, Sea Color Scene and Cast ) as “Noelrock”, quoting Gallagher’s influence on their achievement.

Many have feted Gallagher’s songwriting, with George Martin saying Noel to be ‘the best composer of his generation’.
